Lilly

This last weekend my grand daughter flew in with her mom and ever since then we have had such fun. She is such a good girl. She's now 4 months old. I had been to visit them about a month ago and since then she has changed so much. She making all kinds of new sounds, rolling over and has the cutest smile. Yesterday we took her to see the Easter Bunny and she just acted like not big deal. She does have a fussy time late in the evening where she just screams. But so far she hasn't really taken any naps during the day, so maybe she's just getting to tired. We all want to play with her and hold her and I'm sure that wears her out. But Chan says she does this at home too. So maybe it's just her Ms. Hyde coming out. I guess she can't be perfect and happy all the time. Her grandpa is pretty crazy about her too. He gets soft and totally taken with her when he's around her. As you can tell from the pictuer they did nap together for a little while yesterday.

Daylight Savings Time

Okay I have always loved Daylight Savings Time. Why you ask because you get to get off work and still have sunshine. I love to go out back with the dogs and water or work in my flower bed. But this year it started so early till I'm having a hard time with it. Not only am I having a hard time with it but so is Louie. He doesn't get going to bed early and then not getting up until the morning. So we go to bed and then we get up at 12:30. Last night he got up went outside of course Lila follows him. They never come back in like they usually do. So Finally I go to check. There they are under the Pecan tree digging a hole to CHINA! Louie's daddy Dale is going to kill him. I yell at him to stop it and yes there is dirt all over his face. The digger of the family is found at last. Why do I say it's Louie and not Lila well that's another story. Earlier yesterday evening after we'd gone to eat with my parents, I'm sitting in my chair sewing. We always open the front door for them not so they can run away mind you but so they can go on the fenced in porch. On the porch I've made a miniture rose garden, I love miniture roses. (Some days the running away part does cross my mind...) Anyway I'm sewing and I don't see them so I go out to check and there is Louie with his nose buried a foot in the dirt by my miniture rose bush. His face is covered in dirt. I looked at him and yelled at him to get out of there. Of course Lila is out there but her face is clean so now we know whose been digging up my roses. Louie the wonder Beagle has struck again.

Cancun Trip

Last week Dale and I went on an adventure to Cancun with some of our Friends. We had the pleasure of going with them and it was a free trip for us. How much better can that be. We drove to Dallas and then caught the plane the next morning. When we got to Cancun it was cloudy, windy and cool. Not what I expected but it was great. The Riu Palace Las Americas was great. It was an all inclusive hotel so everything you wanted was free, food and drink that is. They had several different kinds of resturants, and no one that was there went hungry that's for sure. We shopped and had a great time. At the market the little guys or we decided they were Mayan's because they were shorter than me, but anyway they loved Dale. I don't think any shop we went into that the guys didn't have something to say about Dale's height and size. We all had the best laugh at his expense. He was big boy there let me tell you. The guys went deep sea fishing one day and got sea sick, I think the waves were about 6 to 8 feet with the winds were up the waves were too. I was really apprehensive about going but it was a great trip, one I'm so glad we went on. We drove home Sunday and about Abilene hit the winds we all knew we where back in Good Ole West Texas. Lilly Weekend

I had the most enjoyable weekend. Last weekend I spent it in Dallas and it was so much fun. Andrea drove up with her room mate so we all got to be together. Now Dale stayed home and worked on Sam's car and kept the dogs. Lilly is such a little doll. She wakes up happy and stays that way the entire day. She coos and talks and is just so cute. She's bigger but still a little spirit. She also found her hands while we were there it was so cute. I flew up Friday night which of course my plane was late. But that's what always happens to me. At least this time I checked the flight time before I left the house! It left about 2 hours late. It was so cold when I got there and I forgot my coat so I was cold. Then I couldn't find them in the car. I ended up on one level above them. Thomas kept saying walk this way I would and they wouldn't be there. We finally figured out I was up above them a level. I was about frozen by the time I found them. All day Saturday we just played with the baby. Andrea told me I was a baby hog. Of course I still have my sinus which I wish would go away! But it was such a fun weekend. We took Lilly to Target and bought some clothes and toys and a little food. I can't wait for them to be here in March we'll have to go shopping again.....................

The Jumping Beagle

Well Louie struck again last night. I was in the kitchen doing my Neti Pot thing for my sinus cleansing and he was in there with me. Lila had gone outside to eat her treat. Which he'd just gotten one. I guess he decided he wanted another one. So he jumped up knocked the bottle of steak sauce over which it then in turn started to roll off the cabinet. I tried my best to catch it but when it hit the tile in the kitchen it exploded and went every where. There was glass and sauce every where. It went from the kitchen to the dining room which is a big long area. The minute I started yelling at him he took off for the far corner of the living room and sat there and looked at me. He knows if you yell bad boy at him he's in deep do do. I was down on my hands and knees for a long time cleaning up glass and sauce. Of course Lila had to come back in and I had to yell at her to get back from it. She looked at me like I had killed her with her tail all down. I was afraid the smell from the sauce would make them want to eat the glass that was every where. Finally once it was cleaned up and I was back in the living room, Louie came over to make up. Of course he was so cute, he got in the chair with me and put his big ole head down on my lap and looked at me with those big brown eyes, he knows how to melt a heart that one.

Now that UNO the beagle has won the big dog show everyone will want a beagle. I just hope that they realize these dogs require a lot of attention. When they are puppies they are terrors, until they are about 2 they are into everything imaginable. Once they hit 2 they really do turn into wonderful dogs. Even after that age they are lots of fun and into things. Having 2 beagles is like having 10 dogs. I just hope a lot of beagles aren't bought and then discarded because they are too much trouble. That would be such a shame. They are sweet, fun and loyal dogs. I have to say Louie has more character than any other dog I've ever had. I know he'd love to be able to talk and if he could what wonderful conversation we'd have.

Valentine Car Tour

Last Friday February 15th, Dale and several of our car club members took off on a rainy cold day to Kerrville for the Valentine Day Car Tour. I had to stay home because I've been done with ear and sinus infections. I think the entire weekend it was cold and raining but they all forged on. Dale rode up with Sam and I'm sure they had a great time together. They are like two peas in a pod. They saw lots and lots of beautiful cars. Lots of rain. Lots of good folk and lots of country roads. On Saturday Night they went to a dinner at place we ate at last year that the food was kind of questionable. Let's just say I didn't eat it. Needless to say a lot of them ended up with food poisioning. The ones that did ate some strawberry cake. If you didn't have cake you didn't get sick. So he came home sick and headed to bed. Then Andrea came down with a stomach bug so we were up all night Sunday night. Today I'm about beat I think. But I wanted to post some car pictures. I yes I wish everyone of them was mine.

Valentines Day

I have to tell you some times I wonder why in the world I married my big guy. I think we all have days like that. But yesterday he did surprise me. I got home and there in the kitchen was a big pink bear with flowers, and when you push it's paw it plays You Are My Sunshine. Which that's what I always sang to my girls when they were little. Chan now sings it to Lilly. I wasn't expecting anything because we're going to Cancun the end of February and he gave me money to spend for that. So what a surprise. I love the bear and him (most days that is). This morning he left with the car club to go on the Valentine Day tour we do to Kerrville. I had a empty feeling in my stomach and still do. It's like something is missing. My bad luck is I have a sinus and ear infection so I had to stay here, because I have to get over this before Cancun. He's suppose to take lots of pictures so when he gets back I'll post some.

Just when you think you it's just another day, it turns into something totally unexpected.

Phone Call

Last night I called to check on Chan because she'd been sick with the stomach flu, which I'm glad to report she's finally feeling better. I got the fun of talking to Lilly. It was our first phone conversation of many to come. They held the phone in front of her and we had the best conversation. I had been home sick and it sure made my day.

Grass

Okay Sunday I got up and decided Louie needed a bath. I tried to get him in the shower but no go for him. So Dale had to come wrestle him in there. I scrubbed him good. He looked great when I got done and smelled better too. I think he lost about a full cup of hair. I wouldn't let him go outside until he was dry. So he finally goes out. I'm sitting there sewing and here he comes and sits there looking at me. I nearly fell out of my chair. He is covered head to tail with grass. I drag him outside and dust him off wash him down with a rag. About and hour later we do the same thing again. We continue to do this the rest of the day. I guess it was his way of saying take this for giving me a bath. I had to vacuum the house TWICE!!!!!!

Another 1 Bites the Dust

Well we're not sure which lovely dog chewed up the 20th remote but when I got home yesterday I couldn't find it. I looked every where. Finally I went outside and yep there it is on the side walk nearly chewed to a pulp. So I took it inside Dale wasn't home yet. I showed it to Louie and asked him did you do this. He immediately went and sat in the corner with his ears down. Now this totally surprised me. Then I showed it to Lila and she just wagged her tail like what do you want to pet me or something, I'm cute you know?????? Louie is still in the corner. Dale comes home, Louie runs to him from the corner, I told him the remote is no more. By this time Louie is sitting by him with his ears down. So I showed him the remote again and he starts to shake at that so of course Dale starts baby talking to him. So we have to figure it was Lila but then again Louie does get mad when we leave so who knows. Today I'll go get another one, maybe it's been long enough till they wont remember me.....................

Wind Wind Wind

Okay today is a breezy day in West Texas. Let's see yesterday was 40 mph winds and today there are brown skies and more wind than yesterday. Now when everyone was talking about hurricane winds of 60 mph they should come here and see dirt winds. Some times it's like Hobbs or Lubbock blow by. It's a contact and skirt alert day today. According to Weather.Com the winds are at 35 mph but if you could see the dirt blowing by and the flag across the way you'd think that's not right. And of course I have to get out at lunch today. I always seem to forget to not put on chap stick when I go out and by the time I get to my car it feels like dirt city on my lips. And you should see days when we get dirt and then rain, it's mud ball city.

This picture has really happened here and yes it's pretty scary to see it coming towards you. If they ever want to train for Iraq they should come to West Texas.

Lila

I haven't written anything about Lila lately. I guess that mean she's been good. This morning she had a problem though. I was getting ready taking my time waiting to see if the roads were icey or not. Her and Louie had been gone a while outside so I went to find them. Louie came in the living room sat there with his ears down looking sad so I thought well whats wrong. I started wondering where's Lila. We headed out the back door and he took off running around the corner. There was Lila in the corner of what use to be the garden just standing there looking at me. Then I realized she was caught in something. So I headed over and told her to stay there and not to move. She was caught up in some kind of wire. Where the wire came from I have no idea. It was all caught in her tags about 3 times, around her chest, around her front and back legs. She couldn't move. So I started trying to get it off of her. I finally had to take her collar off and the released the front of her then we had to work on the back legs. Louie was there trying to help too I finally had to push him back out of the way. It took a while but she was finally free. I was worried she was hurt, cut or something but she wasn't thank goodness. You should have seen her jumping around afterwards. She was jumping up in the air and so happy. I'm just glad someone was there to get her out. She could have really gotten hurt. My Beagles get into everything inside and out.

Lilly 2 Months

Lunch

Okay lunch today was a typical one for me. Andrea came up to get me about 12:30 or so she wanted to go eat Chinese food. So off we go once she gets here that is. And she did look cute once she did get here. All that work getting ready was worth it. Anyway. We go to the Chinese place and sit down to eat. They never bring us our drinks so I wont eat until I get my drink. I finally had to go ask for it. Then I start to eat the rice gets stuck in my throat wont go up wont go down. I finally got up and went to the bathroom for a while and it finally went down. After that I didn't want to eat but I just ate small bites. It was nice getting to have lunch with Mae. Then we get Dale a to go plate. Leaving the parking lot the red sauce flies off the box and all over the car. I'm beginning to think I should have stayed in bed today..........what a mess it made.

What can I say it's Monday for sure. Is it time to go home yet?!?!?!?!?!

This reminds me of going to Dallas with Janet for school. We had such a good time and so much fun. We got lost and had to pay the toll booth I don't know how many times. Went totally around the loop and back to where we started to find an Outback. We stayed at the nicest place the Renassiance it was top of the line. I felt like the Beverly Hill Billy's at the mansion. It had a door man, our own concerige, you name it. One even while there I had food in my room I was already for bed and I thought I'd be nice and put the tray outside the door to my room. So I'm out there putting the tray on the floor. Click the door locks behind me. There I am in my t-shirt and socks and can't get back in. Lucky for me Janet is a few doors down. I go beating on her door Janet let me in. Which she does laughing of course at what I've done. The guy from the lobby comes up and lucky for me the rooms came with robes. He lets me in my room and has to see my drivers license before he will leave. Yep calmity Jane has struck again. And to this day Janet always reminds me of it. But we sure had lots of fun.

Life takes some pretty interesting turns.....

Sleeping

I have to tell you that anytime you tell Dale he's been a sleep watching TV he'll no I wasn't I was watching TV the entire time, even if he's snoring he wasn't asleep. So last night we're sitting watching the Car Auction of Jackson Barrett, Louie has jumped into his lap, which he does every night. Lila is sitting with me sleeping. I'm sitting there watching the cars which they are beautiful. We'd love to just go there an see the cars. If I had money to buy them we'd be in trouble because I love auctions. That's how I got my kitchen table, chairs and hutch. We went to an auction I bought them before Dale even knew what was happening. Anyway I'm watching the car auction and look around and there's Dale and Louie sleeping. So I quietly got up got the camera and snap.........he never knew it.

Lilly Pictures

We have more new pictures of Ms. Lilly. Just in the last few weeks she has changed so much. It's hard to believe how fast time is going. I guess when you have your own kids your to busy with them to realized how fast the time is going. But being a grammy I get to sit back and watch them grow without all the stress that being the parents has. And I have to say it's a lot of fun. And yes she's smiling and it's so cute. I'm glad that Chan and Thomas post pictures every week. They just live to dang far away. I see a trip coming up before long for a visit.

Andrea got off to college again yesterday. It's always hard to let her go. But she's doing really good in college and I'm very proud of her. It's hard when your kids are away and you can't see them every day. I guess I was lucky and have always lived by my mom and dad. So all this is new and hard to get use to. Dale, Louie and Lila keep me busy though. Dale with work, Louie and Lila with play and getting into things. The busy Beagles they are a hoot.

Louie Tail

As you know my beagle Louie is a character. He has more character than any other dog I've ever had. I think if he could talk he would. And the conversations would be the most interesting things.


Last night was Dale's Birthday, we wont say how old he is because then it would tell my age. Anyway my parents came over to give him his present and at the same time I was setting up their new cell phone. I had the AT&T guy on the phone doing his magic. During all this Dale feeds the dogs, and leaves out the measuring cup I use to feed them with on the counter. Also during all this Chan calls with a question about Lilly and her runny nose. So the AT&T guy is getting to know my family really well. For some reason I turn around and there goes Louie out the doggey door with something in his mouth. And yes it's the plastic measuring cup the magical jumping beagle strikes again. For some reason he has always loved plastic. I don't know how many times he has eaten something plastic and we've had to worry to death it would be the end of him. So I yell at Dale and he goes after him. Dale comes back no measuring cup. Louie comes back in no measuring cup. Dale goes back to the back yard no cup. And yes the AT&T guy is still on there listen. Every now and then I say Hello and he says yes I'm still here. Dale goes out one more time and comes back in with half the measuring cup. Where the other half is who knows. So Louie is in trouble and hiding because he knows he's in trouble. I wonder could this be the dog that opened Christmas Presents not once but about 3 times? The AT&T guy starts asking me about my dog what kind he is that sort of thing. I finally ask him are you done with the phone and he says oh yeah I was waiting for you to try it and see if it was working. And yes he was laughing and I could hear people in the back ground laughing. So I amused the AT&T people and gave them their laugh for the day thanks to LOUIE again. What a dog..................

What A Face

Now I know this looks like such a sweet, adorable face doesn't it. It doesn't look like the dog from down under. But last night he was. We go to bed everyone is in their places. SLEEPING. Then Louie Jekel attacks. So we're up at 12:30 he wants to eat. And when Louie Jekel wants to eat he sits at his bowl and barks until someone (Me) feeds him. SO he eats. Then about 2 he's in there barking again. SO HE eats. Then about 3 he's in there again barking. SO HE EATS. By this time I'm livid and very tired. You'd think this was a baby like Lilly not a sweet adorable dog like Louie. But finally Louie Hyde appears and goes to bed. Of course I was the only one up with him. Business as usual. So when I get up this morning where is Louie in Bed SLEEPING.
No wonder some nights Lila growls at him.

Heard from Chan today and this was Lilly's first day at daycare. Maybe I need to send Louie Jekel to day care............

Quiet House

Got Andrea off last night to Dallas. That was hard. When I got home the house was so quiet. It's like I have to get use to it all over again. I know she'll be going back to school in a week and that's hard to do too. Kids just make the happy sounds in a house. I'm sure she's at Chan's being a baby hog as usual.....When I talked to her last night I got to here Lilly taking a bath and I don't think she was really happy about it.

The Big Guy came home last night sick. At first I thought he was just grouchy from driving all day, but alas no he is sick. I gave him medicine last night but this morning he's still down. And of course being man he wont go to the Doctor. Now me I get sick I go because I don't like to feel bad. I just talked to him he sounded a little better. We'll see how he is when I go to lunch.

Back to Work

After 2 weeks here I am back at work. But I love my job. Thought I'd post some new pictures.

I have such a good looking family and I love them all so much. There is nothing like Family and Christmas. Maybe that's why Christmas is my favorite time of year. Well that and the presents?????

We definitely had a house full. 3 Dogs, 2 Cats, and 5 adults and 1 pretty baby. But it was fun. Lila and Milly had a blast together. I think they ran circles around poor Louie. The day that Chan left the dogs slept all day. Over all they were good.

I talked to Chan today and she said Lilly has started smiling at her she was so excited. And here I'm missing it. I'm sure I'll have to go see her before long.

Christmas

I have to say this was a great Christmas. My family was all together and it was just wonderful. I think that was really the best present of all. We had Christmas with my parents on Christmas Eve and it was so nice to just have everyone together and be thankful for all of them. Christmas morning was spent at my house we opened presents and opened presents it was fun. My parents came over and brought food which everyone was starving. Dale's mom came over about 4 and ate with us, which that was a first but it was nice.

Lilly has just been great. She's really a good girl. Louie has just been taken with her. He always has to know where she is at all times. She makes a sound he's there checking it out. He has been so cute with her. Now Lila she's like whatever. But Louie has been something. He's a mama dog in male fur. I can only hope everyone has had as great Christmas as we did.

Vacation

I have to say I'm having a nice time at home. Yesterday I didn't even get dressed until I had to take Louie to the vet. He has thyroid problems and they were adjusting his medicine so we had to go give blood. Or I should say he had to give blood. For the first time he peed in their waiting room. I guess some fancy dog had been there and he just had to do it. He was up to 60 lbs too. I don't think the dog food is working.

When I got back we took Andrea's car to the shop to have it's brakes looked at again. They are starting to make noise or grab again. The only bad thing about having a bug is no one here in town want's to work on them. When we got back she put all the presents under the tree. This time with the small ones in the middle and the big ones on the outside.

Then last night we out to Outback with Bennie & Joyce and where we surprised Andrea went too. Use to be we were old and she couldn't be seen with us I guess College has made a huge difference to her about us or could it be she just wanted to eat at Outback..... Sure was good steak.

When we got home lo and beyhold, the mysterious bad beagle(s) had struck again. Now we know it's couldn't be Louie or Lila they are too sweet and good I'm sure they tried to fight off the bad beagle and protect the presents. Hmmmmm......presents were everywhere in the living room, one torn to shreads. Here a present there a present. I think we or Andrea rewrapped about 5. Some day we're going to have to catch that mysterious bad beagle.

If we had a cat I know Louie and Lila would say I swear it's the cat he did it.

Louie Man

Yesterday was a hard day for us. Louie Man had another seizure. He's been having them about every 3 months. I've talked to the vet about it and one of them says put him on medicine the other says to just watch him and if they get more frequent then put him on medicine. I've been through this before with a Cocker I had and the medicine cause him to have liver failure, so I'm really leary about putting Louie on the medication. One minute he was fine sitting with me which he usually doesn't do that and the next he was having the seizure. I guess he knew it was coming. Everytime he has one he always comes to me. I guess I'm mom and he knows mom will help him. Lila came running to help him too so Dale had to keep her away until it was over. They never last but minute but it seems like forever. I just sit and hold him and talk to him until it passes. You just have to keep your hands away from his mouth because he has no clue what's going on. He doesn't have them as bad as the Cocker did but it's never fun. I'm thinking of changing his food I've seen that Science Diet has one for itchy skin and he sure has it now. I guess I could get him itchy skin food and Lila fat girl food. They were really cute this morning the leaves are falling off the trees and they had to check it out to see if something was up there. I think they both would climb the trees if they could. Especially when the squirrel is up there.

And by the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! I know you say it's not your birthday but it is.

Early Day

Last night Louie had some issue and just wouldn't sleep. I think finally about 2 I went to sleep then at 5 I had to get up and take Dale to the airport. That was so early. I dropped him off and headed back home and to bed. First Louie was in bed then Lila. So I had 2 dogs curled around me it was really great. Now I know why I wanted a King Size Bed. They have really been being good here lately. Talked to Chan this morning she was doing great. Lilly slept from 10 until 4 this morning. What a good kid.

Chris told me today at work to plan the party again for next year. I had such fun doing the one this year till I can't wait. After today I'm off unit really January 2008. Now that's a first I think since I've been here. I can be a lady of leisure for a few days. Now that's a funny thought we know that wont happen.

Finally

It's been really busy at work and home. So finally I have a chance to put my thoughts down. The Car Club Christmas party was fun. And for once the food was great. I think I had the biggest steak I've ever had in my life. Here's some pictures from it. Everyone brought gifts and you picked a number and when it was your turn you picked a gift. Are if you wanted to steal someone else's you went and stole and they had to go pick another gift. As you can see Dale stole a gift. I got the Joyce brought and hid it so I could keep it. It was lots of fun.

Then to the computer problems we got several virus on the computer and I had to have someone come fix it. Now seems we may have to get a new one. And to start Dale was on a tear. But he's better about it now. Just took him a few days.........

Lilly Pictures

Chan and Thomas sent us new pictures so I have to post them. You can already tell that Lilly is getting bigger. Last time they went to the Dr she was a light weight of 7 lb 4 ozs and she's already sleeping all night. Now I myself think thats wonderful mine never slept all night at nearly 3 weeks old. I think it took Chan about 2 years to do that. So here's the pictures.

HES Party Night

I have to say last night was wonderful. It was a lot of work and I was so tired till I couldn't sleep last night when I got home. But it was a night of magic. The Turner Mansion was awesome. It was totally decorated and just beautiful. There were tons of people there and everyone thought it was great. We had 3 bars set up, Murrays catered, and LHS Orchestra played for about and hour and a half. The Chocolate shots were a big hit too. The Ice deal and the food were great. And the people that served and took care of everything I can't say enough about them. This was like a dream come true. I got to set up the party, spend what I wanted, and have it in a Cinderella house. For one night it was my house and my party. I loved every minute of it. We'll see what I can do next year......hopefully for sure have new shoes that don't hurt my feet!

Fun Weekend

This last weekend was a fun one. Andrea was home so Friday night we saw Enchanted it was different. Part cartoon and part real. But I liked it. It was fun getting to go with her. Saturday I did her hair so she could go to formal at Sorority. I have to say her hair looked really good. This is a picture of her an Ashley that's her big sister in Sorority and Ruth one of her good friends.

Then Saturday Afternoon we were in the Christmas Parade downtown Midland. I don't think I've ever seen so many kids. They were lined down Illinois and then down Wall. Tons of kids.

It was lots of fun. After that we all went to Cattleman's to eat. It's nice getting together with everyone. And yes I had a big STEAK!
